The A&E series Bates Motel has been renewed for Season 2 and I’m pretty psyched. To be honest with you all, I wasn’t expecting to like the show. I mean, I knew star Vera Farmiga would be excellent. Full disclosure: Vera was in my acting class in college. And yes, she was pretty darn talented, even back then. I just didn’t know how a modern day prequel to Psycho was going to grab me.

Well, grab me it did, with it’s fantastic storytelling and wonderful cast. The second season will begin production later this year, and like Season 1, will consist of ten episodes. In a statement, Bob DeBitetto, president of A&E Network said, "With superb writing and exceptional acting, led by the critically acclaimed performances of Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore, we're incredibly excited to see where Carlton and Kerry take Norma and Norman Bates next."
